A cross section of Israel is the people praying at the Kotel. But it’s the soldiers in uniform, long guns slung behind them, and face pressed to the stones that tug at my mother’s heart. Be it a prayer before going out to battle or one thanking for a safe return, I silently mouth along with love and tears. May He protect all our boys and may no more blood be shed. Am Yisrael chai!
