Kotel – One by One

You don’t come as part of something—you come as yourself. The space narrows as you stand closer to the wall, and what was once open begins to fall away, leaving only what you brought with you. The figures are no longer part of a crowd; each one stands on their own, facing the same surface, yet holding something entirely different. The wall rises close and steady, unchanged, receiving without response, without interruption. There is no movement to follow and no moment to share, only the quiet act of standing there, one by one, placing something that does not need to be seen or heard. Nothing here belongs to everyone at once, and yet it all belongs. What matters is not how many stand beside you, but that when you reach this point, you are alone with what you carry, and that is enough.
