An opening that gathers—
without fully releasing what it holds.
Jerusalem – Open Arch centers on a single structure that defines the entire field. The arch stands clear and dominant, yet what lies beyond it remains undefined. It is both an entry and a boundary.
Figures collect beneath and around the opening, forming a loose density that builds presence without direction. Some move forward, others remain, but none complete the passage.
The structure is solid, yet softened—edges worn, surfaces layered—holding time rather than resisting it. Surrounding forms echo the same language, repeating without exact alignment.
The palette remains restrained—pale stone, muted gold, and softened greys—allowing the opening itself to carry the weight of the composition.
Nothing resolves beyond it.
Nothing fully stops before it.
This is not a clear passage.
It is a held threshold.
As a one-of-a-kind original, this work does not define entry.
It holds a space through structure, repetition, and the tension of what remains just beyond reach.
