A city held from afar—
reduced to what remains when detail falls away.
Jerusalem – Distant Line pulls the view back, compressing the city into a narrow band between land and sky. Structure is still present—domes, walls, density—but nothing dominates. Everything is held within a single horizontal tension.
The upper field is open, almost emptied, allowing space to carry more weight than form. Below, the city gathers in layered strokes of blue, gold, and muted tones, suggesting complexity without defining it.
There is no entry point.
No path forward.
Distance becomes the condition.
The landscape is not observed closely—it is held as a whole, where detail dissolves into rhythm and repetition across the horizon.
This is not the city experienced from within.
It is the city as it settles in memory.
As a one-of-a-kind original, this work does not demand proximity.
It holds a space through scale, balance, and the quiet force of distance.
